Re: changing pitch
Playback produces a raggedy garbled mess If you can accept a tempo change (i.e. if the bass is the 1st thing recorded, or if it's a solo performance) you can usually change the speed & pitch together (" Change Speed" effect) without any strange side effects. Or, you might try Auto-Tune or Melodyne ...

Re: Is benchmark meaningful?
... This is laughable because in reality, it can't play a single track without skipping... Does this benchmark actually mean anything? Is it an issue of OS rather than processor? the benchmark means what it means which apparently does not relate to audio and audacity my old win98se machine runs rin...

Crashing..quite a lot
My Audacity 1.3.12 beta is great, and I got it today. I used the auto tune plugin with great success, but the only problem is, my computer keeps completely rebooting when I do use it. I have Vista Home Edition, and i'm not sure if i used the term reboot correctly above but just to clarify, my screen...

Re: Autotalent Slackware - nothing works
...wow I have had 1 crash with about 50 hours of audacity usage playing with all of the plug-ins trying to get auto-tune effects without auto-tune. With autotalent, It has crashed about a dozen times now. If you send along a .core file, also indicating the architecture and version of Audacity and A...

Is there a way to remove robot-like echo from voice?
This is part of a dialogue recorded in a meeting that happened online on a VoIP audio conference service. The audio quality is really good for all participants, but there is one person whose voice sounds like it is on auto tune, he sounds like a robot, and there is an echo, too. I have looked everyw...

Re: Autotalent Slackware - nothing works
Yup, I had to compile it. Sorry for wasting your time with that long-assed post. [edit] Note to self: Don't try to auto tune 2 tracks at once. It ends up in a head on collision style thing....a crash I think it's referred to as. ...wow I have had 1 crash with about 50 hours of audacity usage playing...

Re: skipping beat post recording.
Actually it started again, I had ad-aware running thought that might of been it too. But I think I found root cause, the pause button is flashing during certain parts of the recording, mainly the beginning, assuming this is the auto record on noise feature I need to turn off or adjust? I tried adjus...

Re: Tuning my voice?
Far as I know G-Snap is Windows only.
Autotalent is a LADSPA effect and should work on any platform but is only available as source code, so that will mostly be Linux users.
Are there any "auto tune" type effects available for Mac?

Re: Tuning my voice?
<<<and probably only understand layman's language.>>> No. It could be a last minute entry as Audacity is constantly being improved and updated, but no, AutoTune will not run under Audacity. Koz Yes thank you, but I knew that from searching the forums and my question wasn't whether auto-tune works w...
