Re: Unstable pitch when recording acoustic guitar

Oh dear. It turns out that the old Vista laptop with a previous version of Audacity are showing exactly the same problem. I recorded a piece this morning, played it back over loudspeakers and it sounded as if it was recorded on an old cassette recorder with duff batteries - the pitch kept wobbling e...

Re: Voice modulation plugins?

such as making her voice sound like multiple voices, i.e. a choir. That would be a chorus (or harmonize) effect. I don't see chorus in my list of effects, so it doesn't seem to be built-in. Here are some links to some plug-ins, or you can Google "Chorus effect plug-in" or "Chorus effect VST". (VST ...

Re: Inversion

I mean vertical inversion, the thing which J.S.Bach and many others did. I know already how reversion is made. I know what inversion is. I am not interested in melodies, but in any case I mean inverting a complex texture of sounds vertically. Sorry, I don't understand that. Of course, Bach didn't h...

Re: annoying PROBLEM WITH a vst effect

The thing about plug-ins is - It's up to the plug-in developer to make sure the plug-in is compatible with various host programs. There are thousands of plug-ins and only a few audio editors/DAWs and you can't expect the host developer to test ever plug or to debug & modify the host to support every...

Re: Change Pitch Modified (Possibly a plugin)

I'm not following what you're doing... I guess you're not using Antares Auto-Tune because Auto-Tune does not support Audacity. Are you using GSnap? Audacity's Change Pitch effect? Is the tempo change proportional to the pitch change? Does the tempo change if you don't do anything? How much does the ...

Change Pitch Modified (Possibly a plugin)

So today when working with audio I researched on how to use auto tune. In order to do this I installed both vst-bridge and G-snap. After working with these I needed to use the vanilla "change pitch" with a bit of audio. When I did that I noticed something was off. Not only did it sound horrible it w...

Re: Tempo

I don't use these effects but the Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift is supposed to give better results (and I guess you don't have to use the "sliding" feature If you can get-away with changing the pitch too, the Change Speed effect will give you good quality results. In general, changing tempo & pit...

Re: Levelling out Pitch?

I'm not sure... There is a free Auto-Tune like plug-in called GSnap . Auto-tune might be able to do it. I'm pretty sure Melodyne could do it. Any background sound effects or music is going to get pit-shifted too, and that might sound screwy. ...The best solution is probably for you or someone you kn...
