Probably not.

Audacity Preferences > Audio I/O

Make sure either Software Playthrough or Hardware Playthrough is selected. Pick the one with the least delay problems while you're performing.

... or external processing. Trying to do it live through the computer will make you crazy because the computer will always have processor latency delay. It's the digital audio killer. Koz

monitor delay

Is there any way to moniter your input but not have a half second delay?? Or to be more specific can the delay caused by using software playthrough be fixed?

... problem then. Now I'm having the same problem, but the rates have all been the same the entire time. The track records with about a half second delay, which is easily fixable by scootching it up, but the track is also playing back at what seems to be a faster rate. Any ideas? Select "Play other tracks while recording new one"

(do not select "software playthrough" as that will cause a significant delay)
