Is hardware playthrough and software playthrough the same thing? I don't see an option for both, only software playthrough.

I assume you've tried "Hardware Playthrough" and it doesn't work? If you've tried that, I don't think there's anything you can do about the lag in Software Playthrough. Someone else might correct me. --Allen

By disabling the software playthrough, you can't hear anything. That depends on your hardware. If you use the same device for recording and playback, then it should be possible to set it to playback while recording using hardware playthrough (providing the hardware and drivers support this, which m...

... your computer, you will also need to select "software playthrough". Note that when using software playthrough there will be a short delay (about half a second) between sound going into your computer and coming out through the computer speakers/headphones.

Thanks for that - I too found that the delay on software playthrough was both off-putting and unhelpful. I decided to do it without monitoring, but next time I will try your suggestions
