Re: Mach5 LightSpeed...??
I knew the 400% increase in tempo wasn't going to work b/c it's too fast/distorted to hear anything clearly Ha! You did ask for "Mach5 Light-Speed" :D How about increase the Tempo by 100% and then slow down by -50%. after some Einsten-like mathematical calculations lol. Yes it's counter-intuitive i...

Re: Audacity stops recording at 36 seconds
Hi, Yes I have now tried recording in Sonar. I get a new issue when using that in that the midi playback plays perfect, but when I play back the recording it sounds like a record skipping from time to time i.e. 1 beat may be lost but the recording goes to the end. Moving on from there I have tried c...

Re: Digital "jukebox" to feed the analog stereo?
Thanks, WC. This is called "hide the crates and spinners" and move it all to digital, so as time allows I do bits and pieces of that and I suspect the final archive will be 500GB to 1TB in size, sticking to the WAV format. I'm looking around slowly so whatever answer I do come down to will lat a whi...

Re: MP3 Quality control
All those figures you provide are almost identical, suggesting that there are some errors somewhere, because my ears clearly tell me different. Of course, I saved the edited mp3 files from within the Magix Music Editor, not Audacity, and also the files I'm working with are 16-bit, not 32-bit. 32-bit...

Re: Attack Sustain Decay Release
Dear Steve, thanks a lot, this was exactly what I was looking fore! You deserve a pint of beer!! :-) I think that what you are calculating with the "silence finder" tool is a kind of decay time. I processed my files with the silence finder with db levels of 20, 30 and 40 db as suggested in Toulson e...

Re: Extract beats/shakers from songs
I very much doubt that it will be possible without causing considerable detriment to the sound quality of the remaining audio.

Re: BPM issue
@koz: yeah that would work i guess... i could record my Metronome alone, then play to the Metronome (not the recording) and then the both recordings should fit.... except if there´s a difference between recording with the H2 mics or its line in... well, I´m a bit lazy for that method anyway. @steve:...

Re: Odd distortion
Apologies, didn't mean to sound snappy :) I'd burnt the CD a little while ago to play the tracks in my car, which is when I first noticed the problem (as I'd not listened back to the tracks on my PC before playing the disc in my car). I know what you mean in terms of the tops of the wave forms flatt...

Re: Big Difference in Audio Quality (Microphone)
Hi,
I have no money for equipment at the moment. I'm using audacity to rap over beats. Only one microphone at a time. I'm using the laptop for recording vocals, as the quality is notably better.
Thanks
Anthony
