Re: quantizing (timing)
There's a new plug-in available for Audacity 1.3 called Beat Per Minute labels . (available here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=60534 ) It creates a label track with bars and beats marked at the tempo specified. When dragging an audio clip to a label position, labels are slightl...

Re: Recording problems on Windows 7 - Beats Audio
I successfully used Audacity on both Windows XP Desktop and Vista Laptop computers. I now have a Windows 7 computer. I don't know if it matters, but my XP computer had a stand alone audio card. This new Windows 7 computer has audio integrated in the mother board. If it will help, I would be happy to...

Re: Recording problems on Windows 7 - Beats Audio
On the earlier release of Audacity, I could select "record what you hear" and this worked great Was that on the same computer with the same operating system? For YouTube it's quicker (and better sound quality) to download the file directly from YouTube and then convert the file to Audio. There are ...

Re: Recording problems on Windows 7 - Beats Audio
Sorry -- I'm trying to record audio only from YouTube, internet radio programs, BBC Radio programs via their iPlayer to name just a few. On the earlier release of Audacity, I could select "record what you hear" and this worked great. With the new release, this option is no longer there.

Recording problems on Windows 7 - Beats Audio
I just purchased a new computer and loaded the latest Audacity program. I've always used the older version to record streaming audio, but can't seem to do it properly with this new release. Maybe someone out there has some ideas that will help. Here are some observations: 1) While I see split tracks...

Beat Per Minute labels
How do I turn on the Bars and Beats grid? How do I Snap an audio clip to a particular beat? I saw a Sonar video where they had little grid bars they could grab and move to the start of each note that corrected any sloppy timing. My song is 140 bpm but I can only snap to whole second... Audacity doe...

Ok my problem is I made some instrumental beats on a friends computer and burned them to a cd. I uploaded the tracks to my computer and I try to open them through Audacity so that I can record vocals but when it opens its just a few seconds of random noise, but when I open it in Windows Media Player...
