Re: Missing Feature or User Error?

To move parts of a track you can use the Time Shift tool, but there must be room (empty track space) to move them. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tools_toolbar.html#timeshift Here you can see that the third beat in the first track is late, but the other beats are OK, so we need to move just th...

Re: Recording result sounds thin out of phase

Here is the report. I checked for enhancements to disable - found none. On a test to see if this was a recording or playback issue, I played older tracks. They too were thin. I then turned on the HP Beats Audio and then the normal sound came back. I might have thought I would get clean play-through ...

Re: Recording result sounds thin out of phase

I have disabled every software enhancement I can find on the speakers, etc. I have turned off, I believe, Beats Audio. The computer uses motherboard audio. I was thinking of purchasing a sound card to try to get away from the problem - it just seems like something to try. Any suggestions? The sound...

Recording result sounds thin out of phase

I have an HP desktop running Windows 7 home premium, service pack 1. I have Audacity 2.0.2. The computer has Beats (tm) audio. I have a persistent problem of recording streaming audio. I do not have a microphone and have not recently tried to record by Line In, so I don't know if the problem would s...

Re: Muddy Sound When Recording In Audacity

Does your sound card have a control panel? There is an HP Beats Audio control panel (see attached). Under the "Recording Experience" tab, there are only 2 options "Noise Cancellation" + "Acoustic Echo Cancellation". Neither of these options are checked. There are no other options to do with noise r...

Re: Pattern based sound editing

I like the idea of being able to select a region by time and frequency - this came up recently here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=69532 That user interface is very similar to how TAPESTREA works. The main difference is that TAPESTREA not only uses frequency as an operator, but...

Re: No play through from USB turntable to ext. speakers

Dear Gale, Thanks once again for weigning in on this, and for your most expert advice. This morning after I downloaded a song file, while in the download manager I could see the zip file (completed) there as to Line-In. I double clicked it to see if that would open the zip, since I could find no tra...

Re: changing ouput level

Still having problems with our ISP. Most of what is listened to is for relaxation and aiding sleep. Included are meditative, hypnotic, relaxing passages. Most of these are rather uniform in output level, and neither compression nor clipping is required for acceptable results. The only type played th...
