Thanks for your replies. The stuff I am trying to record is streaming audio from the internet so I'm not introducing anything from outside the PC via Line-in or Mic. Its actually training stuff for choral singing where most of the content is in the left channel and the bass part that I have to learn...

@dch22 I deleted your other post that you added to another topic. You are not on Windows 8 and don't have Beats Audio, so it is just confusing to post there.
