Export with external encoder examples.

Hi all I am trying to export a voice recording in Audacity, to my flash drive, as a WAV file, but it has to be in 24 bit, as I am going to have a friend open it in his software and do the mixing with music for me and he has asked me to save it (I mean export it) as a WAV in 24 bit, not 16 bit but th...

Re: Digitalfishphones.com PLUG INS w/ Audacity

Thank you sooo...much for the answers Sorry, I just have a quick question about the 2nd step of my previous post, just want to know the reason why, when boosting the volume through EQ, the Eq allows me only to push the signal to 3 dB and not further (with no clippings),--- while the Amplify allows m...

Re:SOFT CLIPPINGS PLUG IN w/ Audacity

Steve I do not know how to thank you, that was really a difficult task for you to answer, I am a difficult asker, and it was for me like a really needed almost classroom lesson to learn, that clarify things a lot on the other hand I realize now that is not so easy to record if you do not know anythi...

Re: Digitalfishphones.com PLUG INS w/ Audacity

Thank you Steve, Those values you gave me for the Soft C Limiter really helped tremendously!!! About the sequence you gave me, in the AMPLIFY, what about if the level of my recording is already at 0.1 dB ----- should I still reduce the volume to -6dB, even if the purpose is to boost the volume and n...

Re: SOFT CLIPPINGS PLUG IN w/ Audacity

Steve Sorry, just going back to the Soft Clipping limiter you advised me before: In which order do I apply it? Is there a way to apply it before the recording? Or should I first do Amplify, then Noise Removal as you guys advised, then Soft Clippings, then either Boost and then Gverb Or do i apply So...

Re: Good Gverb settings for vocals?

Ok I see now, thank you for explaining I got the logarithmic graphic by clicking on the track on the AudioTrack arrow and then choosing Waveform (dB), rather than just Waveform Is that the correct chart I got? So any sound above 0dB in that chart, should be considered as a clipping,? Does a clipping...

Re: Good Gverb settings for vocals?

Trebor, Thank you so much for your reply, that will certainly help, when you say : "[ Unlike other Audacity effects "Bassboost" does clip if the signal goes beyond +/- 1 ]" Would you mind to explain what "GOING BEYOND +/- 1 implies? isn't 5dB" already beyond +1? Or is it not? Beside this, I wanted a...

Re: Good Gverb settings for vocals?

Thank you so much Bill for the link, I appreciate it I do have Audacity 1.3.13 and I can see the few "preset" curves from the "Select Curve" dropdown menu in the Equalizer effect . And I tested in the Draw Curves mode, and as you suggested, --- "clicking on the green curve at the "400 Hz" vertical l...

Re: Good Gverb settings for song vocals?

TO STEVE or TREBOR, I was advised previously in this forum , (thank you so much for that) that if I want to boost my voice (before applying the Gverb) i can do through the Equalizer : " If you want to deepen the voice (more bass), try boosting the low frequencies with the Equalizer" And that " Bass ...
