Thanks for the info. After an extensive review of my process I found that the toggle on Numark was on phono vice line. Ishifted the toggle and turned off the speakers and play feeature as suggested and all is well with the world.

an unwanted tone
I'm using Audacity 1.2.6 and Windows XP. I have a Numark turntable that I am using to download some very old vinyl. Everything is working great; except as soon as I hit the record button, I get this constant tone. As soon as I stop recording, the tone ceases. I am not a computer genius, so if someon...
