Building audacity with wxWidgets 3.1
Is it possible to build audacity using wxWidgets 3.1 (the current version)? Audacity's configure.ac insists on having version 3.0. The current wxWidgets release implies that the current version (3.1) should be compatible with version 3.0 . I would like to have some advice before editing configure.ac...

All this is a wild goose chase due to my misunderstanding of how to use Gnome's mixer-applet2. My only excuses are that it is confusing to use, different from most (all?) other mixers, and wrongly documented.

I'm using audacity with jack under Fedora 9 to record audio coming in through my computer's line input. The version is audacity-1.3.5-0.5.beta.fc9.x86_64 .
