Re: help with vinyl to mp3 via usb
i'm sure you know what I'm talking about... Actually, no. What it seems like is that your turntable isn't giving you enough bass or you've got the gain turned up so high that it's distorting the audio. If the turntable is in normal working order and you're not recording at too high a level, you sho...

Re: Audio track somehow shifted
Your question is confusing: somehow 1 track has shifted, it still starts at the right time, but when I export as wav, it does not include the few seconds in front that is missing. If the track starts at the right time, wouldn't it automatically include the first few seconds? Is it that the track loo...

Re: recording multiple tracks
It's still odd to me that you're limited to 8 tracks, that seems quite small. I used to record with a 800 MHz Pentium 3 and I was able to do at least 15 - 20 tracks at once. Admittedly I had a nicer sound card, but I'm not convinced that actually makes a difference. If you have any virus checkers ru...

Re: connecting usb turntable to stereo
You will need a Line Out on your stereo receiver (I assume that's what you mean when you say "stereo"). Run a cable from the Line Out there to the Line In on your computer, then set Audacity to record using the Line In. If you can't find a Line Out, then you can run a cable from the Headph...

Re: HELP! Questions on Importing & Mix Audio Panel & M-Audio
1) I am using Audacity with an M-Audio connected to a PC with Windows XP via a firewire. Whenever I record I can't hear anything. Of course I've tried all the suggestions inthe help windows or setting up the control panel correctly. Does anyone use an M-audio to record to their PC? If so should the...

Re: STORAGE OF AUP / DATA / MP3 FILES
You can delete the .aup files and the _data folder if you want. It's a high quality version of every track in each Audacity project, so if you need to do any editing later it's good to have, but if you're never going to do any more editing and you've already got the MP3 quality you want, then go ahe...

Re: Only record choices are mic and line in...help
You've been through the wiki and have updated your drivers and it still doesn't work. The only things left are to get new hardware or wait for someone to write proper drivers. Can anyone tell me if the Griffin iMic or the Behringer UCA202 will work? Those are both cheap USB devices that I haven't se...

Re: Kensington USB Hub and Logitech USB Mikes
Because of the way Windows and Audacity handle sound devices, you will only be able to use 1 USB mic at a time. Windows reports them as 2 separate devices and Audacity is limited to using 1 device at a time. I think you can do this in GNU/Linux (though I'm not sure there are any good drivers for USB...
