Ask at the Recording Techniques or Recording Equipment (depending on what you need answers for). You'll get better answers there.

Re: Beta Version crashes everytime I try the get a noise sam
Oh dammit. You're having the same problem as a few others (myself included, but only my computer at home). http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3217#p3217 Your best bet at this point is to try using a different computer if you can. I don't think anyone has figured out what causes this crash.

Re: Mobilepre USB help
Now now, if we're talking about better interfaces, the M-Audio Delta 1010LT trumps the Lexicon Omega soundly and can be had for the same price (at least, at zzsounds.com).

Re: Recording trouble
So is there a display bug we should be aware of? Or did you just not notice the time-line change (it's easy to do this)?

Re: Importing Track Names
No, but there is a fast way to do this. Audacity allows you to export the labels (in the File menu). The resulting file will look like this: 1.381678 hurray 2.101497 for 3.589025 atheists Each line contains the time stamp of the label, followed by some whitespace, followed by the name. What you can ...

Re: Mobilepre USB help
Crackling in the monitor signal? That's either a bad audio device, bad USB cable (seems unlikely), bad USB port (happened to me with a FireWire port once) or the driver software isn't working right. It's easy to test the USB port and cable, but those probably aren't the problem. I have a lot of expe...

Re: Recording trouble
This is the first time this problem has come up that I'm aware of. If you leave Audacity recording and don't touch it in any way, will it continuously record a ~1.5 minute loop? In other words, will it loop again once it reaches the same point if you let it keep going? Just to be certain, when Audac...

Re: Edit out silence due to buffering
There's no way to get Audacity to fix these errors by itself. You'll have to go in and manually delete the silence. Be careful of making discontinuous waveforms.

Re: Noise Reduction takes the voices away too.
You can only upload .zip files no bigger than 256KB (I hope this changes in the future). First things first, download and use Audacity 1.3.3. The Noise Removal function is vastly superior in the new version of Audacity and you'll get much better results with it. That said, don't expect miracles. The...

Re: fast track problem with vista
Does it have proper Vista drivers? They're listed here: http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support.drivers&f=812 They currently only support 32-bit machines, so I hope you don't have a fancy 64-bit computer. Beyond that, do you have the driver software set up correctly? Is it selected as the in...
