Re: small 12 secs clips
[quote]thanks for the info but is there no way these au files can all be put together to make a longer clip.[/quote[ Yes there is. Waxcylinder was trying to tell you how to do that. You need to open Audacity, click File -> Open -> and then find the project file you saved as the first time (PROJECT_N...

Re: Impulse Convolver Plug-In by Steve Harris
"room correction"? I hope you don't mean you're trying to cancel out the effect of the room you're playing the music in to get a "flat" response from your speakers. Steve Harris, brilliant man that he is (I assume), has a webpage with exactly the info you're looking for: http://p...

Re: help
Wow. Was that a command?
It depends on what kind of music you want to make, what kind of instruments you'll be playing, and whether or not you're recording by yourself or with others. Let us know what you want to make and we'll help you from there.

Re: 2nd track speed varies
Well, it's hard to say what causes this problem. Personally, I'm not 100% convinced it's not a software problem. But if you've been using Audacity just fine, and it suddenly starting acting funny there are only two options for the cause. Something you changed in software, or hardware failure. Did yo...

Re: Muti-Track Recording Latency
It's recording latency, as you've guessed. First off, don't use ASIO drivers, they won't work in Audacity for legal reasons (thank you, Steinburg). There might be a way to adjust the latency using Line6's driver software, but I don't know for sure. I have no experience with that hardware. The only t...

Re: 2nd track speed varies
We see this fairly often, the best guess is that you've got a hardware clocking problem. Until someone comes up with a better solution, the only way to fix it is to use a different sound card.

Re: Recording a study guide
Once you Stop Audacity and press Record again, it puts the new audio on a new track (since Audacity is a multi-track recorder). You can do this: Record something, press stop when you want a break. Click the cursor in Audacity near the end of the first track you recorded and press Record, you will be...

Re: Can't hear playback with mic plugged in
The iMic is hijacking your audio output and setting itself as your default playback device without telling you. I assume you aren't plugging your speakers into the iMic, correct me if I'm wrong. Do this, close Audacity and unplug the iMic, wait a few seconds and then open Audacity and click Edit -> ...

Ugh, Clean Speech. I spent a week pulling my hair out trying to help somebody who had enabled that without knowing what it was.
