Re: Audacity keeps crashing out

The PC speaker is just a piezo buzzer attached directly to your motherboard. It's the thing you probably hear making short shrill beeps when you turn on your PC, it has nothing to do with the speakers you plug into your computers. Also, since it's just a piezo buzzer, I'm not surprised you can't cha...

Re: microphone help

I bet if you were to split those into two mono track, panned center, and invert one of them, then mix them together they'd cancel each other out. Audacity sometimes will record a Mic In signal to two different tracks, but those two tracks are usually (always?) identical. The signal is effectively mo...

Re: can cut but won't paste

Cut and Paste? What are you trying to do?

There's no practical time limit for an Audacity project.

Maybe you've paused the audio instead of stopped it? Audacity won't let you do much of anything if it's in pause mode.

Re: Impulse Convolver Plug-In by Steve Harris

Well, I will never discourage experimentation. But physics says what you are trying to do is all but impossible. The problem is that the Room Impulse will be different at all points in the room, and at all frequencies. In order to get true cancellation, all of the following would need to be true: 1)...

Re: Funny Blips - HELP

Ooo, a reward. Too bad I'm here for pure, unadulterated altruism. First off, open Audacity and click Edit -> Preferences -> Audio I/O. Make sure you have the iTTUSB set as the recording device. Now, disable any virus checkers or scanners you might have running. If you're worried about doing that, un...

Re: microphone help

It's much more simple than that. Most Mic Inputs are mono, you won't get a stereo signal out of one.

Re: length of song changed by mp3 export

The difference between Joint Stereo and Regular Stereo is that Joint Stereo files are smaller and offer the same sound quality. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, most people don't know jack about the way Joint Stereo works. Using Regular Stereo mode forces the encoder to encode each channel separ...

Re: trouble changing output volume

when i turn the output sound down for the background music itll stay but as soon as i try to export it as an mp3 the sound goes back up again. How are you turning the "output sound down"? If you want the background music to be lower all the time, just adjust the gain slider to the left of...

Re: Gaps in sound when recording with Audacity 1.3.3?

I wouldn't chalk it up to chance if it was repeatable. It seems that the new version of Audacity handles recording a little differently. I hope these problems are worked out for the next release.
