clai,
You need an audio device with 4 inputs. Most professional quality sound cards will give you more than 2 inputs (mine gives me 8). Alternately, your keyboard might. Does your keyboard have 4 outputs?
If the hardware doesn't support it, then there's nothing the software can do about it.

Re: Changing pitch changes size
93 MB is pretty big for a wav, but it's not unheard of for longer tunes (or songs stored at a high sample rate / bit depth). You're right about wav files, they're playable almost anywhere. But they're big. On average they're 10 times bigger than mp3 files. In most cases a 128 kbps mp3 file is good e...

Re: Noise removal has slowed down
Second paragraph first: I've also noticed when I now load an image into audacity there's a lighter band across the editing window from +0.5 to -0.5 and when I select a portion of the wave form for editing, the highlighted portion is only that which is outside of this band as opposed to the wave itse...

Re: Changing pitch changes size
The final size of an output file is determined solely by the output format. I'm gonna take a guess here that you're importing mp3 files and exporting as wav files. That would, on average, make the file 10 times bigger than it was originally. On the other hand, you might be talking about using the Sa...

Re: Mixing Tutorial - General Methods
It sounds pretty good, but I do have some criticisms. The stereo balance is right-heavy due to the guitar being panned that way (and it being the main instrument). I would pan the guitar about 10% right and the vocals about 10% left to even things out. I'm sure many would balk at putting the vocals ...

Re: Mixing Tutorial - General Methods
Sounds pretty similar to what I do, though I work much more haphazardly (because I'm crazy like that).
At this point I can't really say anything else unless I get a chance to listen. Any change you could post those tracks somewhere (like MySpace)?

Re: Better way to record...maybe presonus
About the PreSonus, yes it will work in Audacity provided it's running non-ASIO drivers. I used one myself for a few hours with Audacity once.

Re: RECORDING difficulty
lgunther, this is an odd problem.
Are you often plugging/unplugging any USB devices into your computer (especially a USB turntable or similar)? Those can change your sound card settings without telling you.

Re: Help and guidance required
So you want to record the output of a MiniDisc player into your computer? As long as you have a Line In (some Laptops don't nowadays), it's easy. Plug the Line Out of the MiniDisc player (or the headphone out) into the Line In on your sound card, and then open up Audacity and set it to use the Line ...

Re: Cant record anything, can only record mic?
I just replied to your other question in a different thread. If you had said you wanted the Stereo Mix source, I would have pointed you here earlier. Many Vista users (and plenty of XP users) simply can't access that source due to the way the drivers are written.
