Re: 1.2.3 to 1.2.6

It's a good idea, simply because there was a memory leak fixed in 1.2.6, but the rest of your experience might not change much. Here's a list of the release notes between 1.2.4 and 1.2.6: http://audacityteam.org/download/release-notes When you upgrade, you don't have to remove 1.2.3, you can just sh...

Re: Struggling to record audio played on the computer

ajaggysnake and j3ry, You both have a driver problem, your sound card drivers won't allow you to access the Stereo Mix input. You have three options: 1) Update your sound card drivers to a set that gives you the access you need (this is the easy solution, but is unlikely to work for most people). 2)...

Re: new laptop, audacity doesn't work

The drivers you need should come pre-packed with your MobilePre. There are two sets of drivers to use in Windows, the ASIO drivers and the MME drivers. You want the MME drivers. I can't tell you how to switch between the two, you'll have to ask M-Audio how to do that.

Re: Spam

I believe you should see a button at the top right of each post with an Exclamation Point in it. That button allows you to report a post so we mods can find them more easily.

I'm going to delete the posts you listed and request Buanzo to ban the IP they originated from.

Apparently Kristal can use VST plugins properly:

I have no idea about a free software MIDI sequencer. But I'm also not convinced it's 100% necessary, it depends on what that Yamaha plugin expects.

Re: How Can I Improve The Sound Quality of Speech Recordings

Probably not. The process of making really low quality mp3s throws a lot of information out. You can't magically get that information back.

It's a bit like giving someone every other word of a book and asking them to recreate the original.

Re: Any suggestions what to use?

I'll answer your question, but stop using the wrong forum or I'll start moving your threads. This wiki page has all the info you should need about using Vista: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_OS The most important thing to note is that if you can't access the Stereo Mix op...

Re: automatic track separation

Thank you for moving your topic. It's nice to have a clean interface. Your question boils down to how you use Audacity. If you press Record in Audacity then then Play on your turntable and let it record all the way through, everything will be on 1 stereo track in Audacity. At this point, you can eas...

Re: How to use Pitch Fix to sound like t-pain..

OK, found it. That's a VST plugin, and Audacity only has rudimentary support for VST plugins. It seems like this plugin requires a MIDI input of some sort or it will just shift everything to C-major. Unfortunately, Audacity isn't going to help you there since it doesn't support MIDI inputs. You'll e...

Re: Separate tracks in the mix?

Yes, I have this problem, but only under one condition. If I change the sample rate of the exported files, Audacity introduces errors into the exported file. For instance, when I start with an 11.025 KHz file, and split it using your method into (2) 44.1KHz WAV files, I get an glitch between the two...
