Re: Dazzle & Audacity

bdesilva, Yes, you could just buy a '3.5mm male stereo to dual male RCA' cable and plug it into your computer's Line In (note that some laptops only have a Mic In and that won't work very well). Waxcylinder's advice will give you better sound quality, but it is still possible to use the Dazzle. You'...

Re: Strange recording problem

Koz, The problem shows up much later on in the file. It sounds as though someone has a phaser effect running and they're gradually turning the knob from Dry -> Wet. Only it takes about 30 seconds for it to become really noticeable. awexome, I'm glad this isn't your permanent setup since I'm also baf...

Re: Problem laying second track....it re-records the first t

Bonzo,

That thread makes it pretty clear that you have to select Line In as your recording source. Are you having trouble doing that for some reason?

Re: Control Tool Bar

What's the 'correct order'? The only way to change the order of the Audio Control Buttons is in the Edit -> Preferences -> Interface menu. You can turn "enable ergonomic order of I/O buttons" either ON or OFF. Those are your only two options. I prefer OFF. You have to restart Audacity in b...

Re: records from optical-in too fast

marbo, First, the reason Audacity appears to be missing data while recording is because drawing the waveform is low-priority. So Audacity only writes a new image to the screen occasionally, making it appear that audio might be messed up. In reality, the audio should be fine. And for your other probl...

Re: Dazzle & Audacity

Found it: Dazzle Video Creator Platinum uses a hardware encoding chip for real-time video encoding into high-quality MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and DivX formats without taxing your computer’s CPU resources. So despite having analog inputs on this device, it doesn't actually send any audio data to your c...

Re: Request: Skin

I think the Theme option has been removed from 1.3.4. It was present in 1.3.3, but I can't find it in the newest beta. It didn't work very well in 1.3.3 as Audacity only read limited portions of the theme.

Re: Recovering lost audio files

Nerraux,

If the backup .aup file doesn't work either than I think it's down to the Crash Recovery stuff on that wiki page.
