Re: loop

Highlight the clip and click Effects -> Repeat. It's one of the built-in plugins that appears towards the top of the effects menu.

Re: metadata editor for 1.3.4 disturbs chain processing

Steve, did you reset Audacity in between those two tests? Sometimes you have to reset Audacity in order for preferences changes to take effect.

Re: Editing Nightmare

No, that's the best way to keep everything lined up. Selecting both tracks when you press Delete will ensure they both stay lined up. It's difficult to keep things lined up if the two speakers are speaking over one another, but most of the time that isn't the case. I'm not sure why there are portion...

Re: saturated recordings

9 times out of 10, asking to fix a clipped track is like asking to fix a batch of cookies that was burned. Remember the rule measure twice, cut once ? It applies to audio as well. Make sure your recording levels are set correctly before recording. Ask the choir to sing as loud as they can for a few ...

Re: wire recorder

If those are the speaker leads that you're talking about patching in to, it won't work. The speaker output (at least in modern days) is about 10 times higher than the highest Line Level signal. If you only have that Mic in jack, then the level is about 1000 times higher than the highest Mic level si...

Re: CD will not play in my car radio

If you have an older car radio it might not be able to read CD-Rs or CD-RWs. That might even be true of more recent CD players, though I would hope not.

Re: Changing voice to a different voice? help!

is there any way to change the voice pattern to make it sound like someone else is singing the same song? Aside from re-performing it as Koz mentioned, no. In order to do that you'd need two things: 1) a solo voice track. 2) a plugin to change one voice from another. #1 you can get using the Center...

Re: records from optical-in too fast

Higher bit-rates give you greater frequency range because the resolution in the time domain (number of samples per unit time) is greater. Any processes that involve shifting samples time-wise (for example pitch shifting) will be measurably higher quality with higher bit-rates, though at bit rates o...

Re: Exporting to MP3 results in longer / slower file?

Hm.... Do the exported mp3s slow the music down in order to fill all those extra minutes with music? Or is the music played at the right speed and Audacity is adding silence at the end? If you export a file to a sample rate that is different from the original tracks, Audacity adds silence to the end...
