Re: Recordings are clipping. Any ideas?
Steve meant to check and make sure you're using USB 2.0 ports. Not USB 1.1 ports. He wasn't talking about the number of ports, or each individual port's name. I'm not entirely sure how to check and see if you're using 2.0 ports.

Re: transfering from vinyl to CD
An alternative to using Export Multiple is to continue exporting to one long file and then make a CUE sheet and use some special CD-burning software to burn it.
I posted about it here:

Re: Recording from synth?
That midisport box won't help you. It only seems to provide a MIDI signal and Audacity can't make use of that.

Re: low pitch on playback
That's odd. Very odd.
It's probably a hardware problem. It could be that your sound card is having trouble recording at whatever sample rate you're using. Try recording at a different rate (like 48KHz) and see what happens.

Re: audacity projects sounding quiet compared to other music
There are a few real gems in that pack. I really like the Decimator, it approximates the sound of lower bit-depths and makes a really cool effect if you fade it in along the length of a track.

Re: Change sample rate doesn't work
I don't recommend using Audacity to do simple sample rate conversions. Audacity has a bug that adds silence to the end of re-sampled audio files that it really irritating (it shows up if you change the project sample rate in the lower left hand corner and then export).

Re: Only One Track Records
Gary, we need to know which input you're using. If you're using the Mic In port, that's going to be limited to mono recording no matter what you do.

Re: wierd recording problems
Constantly shifting problem like that are odd and difficult to fix. My best guess at this time is that Counter Strike is fiddling with the sound card and Audacity doesn't like it. Does Counter Strike have any 3d audio effects, or other audio processing going on? That kind of thing can be taxing on y...
