Re: 4 track simultaneous recording with lexicon omega?
Actually, the M-Audio card has 8 input channels that I can record simultaneously, but yes, that's how I would do it. I'm not sure exactly what you need to do, talking to Lexicon would be a good idea if you haven't already. One thing you may need to be aware of is that ASIO drivers cannot be supporte...

Re: IS IT POSSIBLE TO IMPORT SOUND FROM A CD ?
You can't. You need to use some other piece of software to rip the audio off of the CD. This will give you either wav files or mp3 files which you can then use in Audacity normally.
If you need a suggestion, Exact Audio Copy is free for Windows and works well.

Re: Drawing on Beta
I see what you mean. There is one thing you could try, but I'm not sure it if will work as well as you'd like. You can click on the track's name (this is a drop-down menu) and change the display to 'Waveform(dB)'. It might be easier to re-draw the wave with that display format. Note that this does n...

Re: stereo problems; no left audio
One more important thing to try would be to use Windows Sound Recorder to try and record a stereo signal from that TT. That will tell you for sure if the problem is with Audacity or with the Turntable / drivers.

Re: Missing character z in label tracks
Yes, this is a known bug. In the edit -> preferences -> keyboard menu there is a listing of each keyboard shortcut. You can also change these shortcuts. Look for "Find Zero Crossing". You'll note that it's initially set to "z". This is the problem so I'll tell you how to fix it. Click on that "z". T...

Re: Line-In Grayed Out, No Input On One Channel
Excellent first post, you just crossed 4 questions we were going to have to ask you off the list. One more thing to look out for: Are you sure that's a Line In you've plugged into? If it's a Mic In (often colored pink, but not always) then it's a mono input and you'll never be able to get a second c...

Re: Audacity not loading with VST enabler (Fruity Loops prob
The VST enabler has serious issues because of licensing restrictions. If Audacity were allowed to give you full VST support it would be implemented in a second. But that's not the case, so Audacity is stuck with very low-level support. I'm surprised that Fruity Loops is complaining, but I don't thin...

Re: Recording From Vinyl
Hairball, You seem to have taken Mick's quote way out of context. "Only a fool assumes the competence of others" was not directed at you. Mick was merely saying that it's always a bad idea to assume that people on message boards are computer literate. 9 times out of 10 the problems people have are d...

Re: Recording - Delays/Timing Issues
I've seen this issue several times, but I haven't yet heard a solid explanation of what causes it. It seems to be a discrepancy between the playback and the recording clocks on the sound card, but I can't think of a good reason to use two different clocks on one card (then again, I've never designed...

Re: Amplifying Problems
Whoa, that is a terrible DC offset problem. Probably the worst I've ever seen. There's something very wrong with your sound card if it's giving you a signal like that unless you're plugging something strange into your sound card. What source are you recording from? It looks like it says microphone. ...
