Re: Can Izotope's Ozone 3 work with Audacity?

Locopomo, They must not be distributed via the GPL Steinburg requires that their source code NOT be distributed, but the GPL license requires that ALL source code be distributed. Either Audacity uses a different license for distribution (not likely) or Steinburg relaxes their licensing agreement (al...

Re: Exporting Sound Issues

It sounds like your default playback device was changed.

This is common when you have a USB turntable or other USB device plugged in. Windows doesn't tell you (stupidly) that these devices will over-ride your sound card when they're plugged in.

Re: Records in lower pitch

Hmmm. As much as I love my Delta 1010LT, I have to say the MobilePre bothers me. I wonder if the drivers for that product aren't so great. First, make sure your drivers are as updated as they can be. Also, see if you can re-create the problem using the Windows Sound Recorder that comes will all post...

Re: HELP WITH HEADPHONE/MICROPHONE ISSUE!!!

There are two different methods to hear what's being recorded. Software monitoring and Hardware monitoring. Hardware Monitoring is vastly superior to Software Monitoring in most cases. Open up Audacity and go to the edit -> preferences -> audio i/o menu. Make sure "software playthrough" is turned OF...

Re: Click Track Bleed

I used sound-cancelling can headphones, so I know the click track isn't being picked up through the headphones. First, the sound cancelling circuit won't make things quieter on the outside of the headphones. It may even make things louder on the outside. But most likely your problem is that you've ...

Re: Audio Tracks ceasing to continue recording

What sort of microphone? The only kind of mic you should plug into your computer's Mic In is a computer mic with an 1/8" 3-conductor phono plug (sometimes colored red). Professional mics (with XLR plugs) and consumer dynamic mics (with a 1/4" plug) need to go through a mic pre-amp circuit first. The...

Re: Amplifying portions of a recording

"Compression" doesn't seem to work -- it merely raises (or lowers) EVERYTHING, leaving the same difference between the louder and softer passages (albeit maybe with EVERYTHING either a little louder or a little softer). What I think is needed is a way to "tell" the program to cap everything about a...

From the README.TXT file that came with your download:
Known issues/problems:

* Audacity can import and display MIDI files, but they cannot be played
or edited.

Re: Not Recording in Stereo

Les, try using Windows Sound Recorder, does that work properly? I have an M-Audio MobilePre here at work and it records stereo just fine when I have Audacity's Device set to "M-Audio MobilePre" and the number of channels to "2 (stereo)". I don't know why it isn't working for you, everything sounds l...
