Re: Can Izotope's Ozone 3 work with Audacity?

Bradlee,

I have no idea, I've never used Kristal. I've heard plenty of good things about it, but never touched it myself.

You'd be better off asking at their forums.

Re: Sound being 'muffled' 4 seconds into a recording

What source are you recording from, Line In? Mic In? Stereo Mix?

Microsoft Sound Mapper just re-routes itself to something else, so that doesn't tell us anything about the source you're using.

I've seen this problem when people use the Mic In with a signal that it's not expecting.

Re: Recording Problem Windows XP

Line In should only give you whatever is plugged into the Line In port on the sound card, it should not give you the speaker output unless there's a cable running from the output to the input. You're looking for an input that's usually called "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear": http://audacityteam.org/he...

Re: Audacity Files No Longer Playing

Please help. I have not made any other changes to the system, files, or settings. If you plugged any USB devices in/out, then you may have without realizing it. Check Audacity's output settings to be sure (edit -> preferences -> audio i/o). We've seen this sort of behavior before, but I've never se...

Re: Quality after converting from Vinyl

do you believe that the sound using MP3 would be really much worse, always condidering the source? Converting to MP3 always reduces sound quality. There's no way around that. As for whether or not you can hear the difference? I can't hear one with higher quality mp3s, but you'll have to test it you...

Re: once again audacity is messing up my sound on my compute

Re-boot and everything will be back to normal. You may also be able to fix this by changing the sample rate in the lower left hand corner of Audacity's main screen. This sort of thing seems to be an issue with specific drivers and specific hardware. Either the driver is too stupid to re-set it's own...

Nope. MP3 tag handling is being re-worked for the next version of Audacity though.

Re: problems using audacity files in powerpoint slideshow

Powerpoint expects to find those files on the local hard drive. If those files aren't on the local hard drive, Powerpoint can't play them. It may be possible to set Powerpoint up to look for the files on a network drive, but that's a bad idea if the network is too slow. Even then, I'm not sure it's ...

Re: Big problem with VST Enabler, please help

samikx, you've got much bigger problems than what the VST enabler could possibly give you. It sounds like you've got a dying hard drive (the "bad image" message) or a virus ("insufficient resources"). The VST enabler can't mess with the uninstaller program. I did hear about one person who had confli...

Re: M-Audio Delta 1010LT and Audacity

Yes, I've used mine extensively. It works in both Windows and GNU/Linux. Using both 1.2.6 and 1.3.4. I have NOT tested it with the digital in/out. I have no equipment that will use those signals. I don't know if it's possible to record from the digital sources at the same time as the analog sources....
