Re: SilenceFinder

Have you highlighted the entire track that you'd like to create flags for?

I haven't used that function myself, but at first glance this seems like the most obvious problem.

Re: Newbie with Lame dll problem ?

It would be great to know exactly what the error you got was. Until then, it's hard to say what the problem is.

Re: Help quick please!

You'll never get good results from a crappy computer mic. Building a useable studio takes a bit of investment. Until you can get some decent equipment, just practice the art of producing recordings. But don't expect them to sound nice until the equipment sounds nice. If you let us know a little more...

Re: Audacity 1.3.2 and 1.3.3 not recording true fidelity

I'm seeing something strange, though I think it can be explained at least in part by my soundcard. I'll try to remember to run a test at home with my pro-quality card. Running at work using the SoundMax Digital Audio chip on my motherboard, I tried this test: 1) Generate 96KHz white noise using Auda...

Re: Crash Recovery problem

First, make a copy of your .aup file with a different name, keep that safe in case something get's messed up. Then, open up the original .aup file in a text editor. It'll look similar to HTML code. If I'm reading RichardAsh's post correctly, check line 8 and see if there is an extra flag somewhere. ...

Re: Clipping issue

You need to use a Line In jack, not the Mic in.

The Mic In jack is only for use with those crappy little computer mics. That jack will clip at a very low level. I'm not sure why it's clipping at -6 dB, but hopefully you won't have a problem with the Line In jack.

Re: Newbie with problem

The Realmedia format is not supported by Audacity. You'll have to find some other software to convert it to a useful format, but I'm not sure how lucky you'll be, the Realmedia format is proprietary and is protected by Real Networks, the parent company.

Re: Need help removing an audio track from a podcast

Are you working from the original project files? Or are you trying to cancel out a bit of audio in the original podcast? If you're working with only the final output of the podcast, then all you need to do is line up the files, invert one of them (it's a plugin called Invert, conveniently enough), a...

What kind of soundcard do you have? How are your drivers set up? What operating system are you using?

We need more info before we can help.

Re: Purging Undo Data

Danger, Will Robinson! Don't, don't, don't delete files that you've imported into projects unless you have the "Always copy all audio" options selected in the Preferences -> File Formats menu. If you don't have that options selected then your project will be dependent on the original file. The only ...
