Re: Recording SKYPE phone/computer conversations
(The Skype communications system is notable for its broad range of features, including instant messaging, file transfer, short message service, voice and video conferencing) You sound like an ad. You didn't mention what source you are trying to record from, but I'm guessing it was the Mic In source...

Re: Why left and right channels have different volume levels
That's definitely a problem and you will certainly hear it if you listen back carefully. Does it sound right when using headphones to listen to the Minidisc directly? If not, then your minidisc is messed up. If it sounds alright, then your recording setup is faulty. You could have a bad cable betwee...

Re: Mic reverb
I'm getting an echo when mic recording. I've made no mixer changes between my 1.2.x and my 1.3.x. What am I missing? Thank you. When you install 1.3.3 it doesn't read the settings you have set for 1.2.6. You've got to reset all the settings. You likely have the wrong input source selected. In the E...

Re: Auditicity dropping recording for a split second
Sounds like a hardware / drivers problem to me. Do you perchance have Vista now? If so, it's likely your soundcard drivers: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_OS In any case, update your drivers and see if the problem still occurs. If that's not it, let us know more about you...

Re: [Vista] I can't choose input source
In that case, your drivers don't allow you access to that input. You either need new drivers (don't rely on the drivers on a CD, they're probably outdated) or new hardware.

Re: How Do You Make A Mono Recording Into Stereo?
Click on the Track's name in Audacity. You'll notice that this is a menu, I'll call it the track menu from here on out. 1) Click on the track menu and select "Split Stereo Track" You'll have two tracks now, one labeled Left and one labeled Right 2) Go ahead and delete the empty track. Highlight the ...

Re: A tool / filter / technique to tweak dynamic range
There already is one, it's called a Compressor.
It's not as easy to use as the idea you describe, but it does work if you research the topic.

Re: recording seperate tracks
I did all of that already and its still not working. If that's true, then you must have a plug running from your Speaker output back into your Line In or Mic In. You probably don't, though. I suspect you don't actually have it set up right. Most likely you've still got the wrong recording source se...

Re: Output volume problems
Don't worry about compressing unless it's absolutely necessary. Those waveforms are much more quiet than they need to be. The best thing to do is to record louder, as long as you don't clip . It looks like the recording volume is already turned up in Audacity, so that's probably not the problem. You...

Re: Trouble recording, 3 versions.
Well, it's probably your Recording Source that's the problem. There's a FAQ page on this subject: http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=recording&i=streaming But this page might be more helpful since you've had it work before: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_...
