It's possible you have bad RAM. Try shutting down and taking that new RAM stick out, then reboot and try again. Does it work now?

First question, what bit rate are you exporting to? At the very least it should be 128, and 192 is quite a bit nicer. It depends on what you're using it for. 1.3.3 seems to upgrade a lot of editing related things such as: Nicer markers, easier Cut/Paste, and better noise removal.
