Import them both into your project, and adjust the gain as you see fit for each track. Then use the Time Shift tool to move one relative to the other and you should be done.

When you play the project back, you should hear both of the sound effects playing.

Audacity can't open AAC files (aka .m4a or .mp4).

Provided you already had a Turntable, yes, that would have been a better option.

VST is a plugin standard. Audacity has only very minimal support for VST plugins. I don't recommend using them unless you test each one rigorously first. Some VST plugins crash audacity.

I wouldn't worry about VST or the VST enabler unless you really really want to.

You'll have to look at what the instructions for the turntable say to do? Do they mention using software to filter the audio after recording? If they don't, then the turntable probably does it's own RIAA filtering.

I just looked at the data for that recorder. It only records to WMA format, so Audacity can't open it. You'll have to use a different piece of software to convert from WMA -> WAV.
