Re: levels clipping
You won't hurt anything trying the MC setting, the current is way too low out of either style cartridge to cause any damage to anything. I think it's a driver issue though. Audacity can only adjust your input gain if your drivers allow you to. Maybe you have something set wrong in your driver softwa...

Re: looking for EZ way to create contoured pulse train
I can't think of a way to get Audacity to do that. Furthermore, at that pulse rate you'd be limited to signals of less than 50Hz. That's damn near sub-audible. I'm guessing you don't want to create "audio", just generate DC pulses for some other purpose. Are you an engineer by any chance? ...

Re: Request: Skin
n0ukf, You have to save the .png file (name it "ImageCache.png"). Then open up 1.3.3, go to the Themes menu, and click Save Theme Cache. Audacity will prompt you that it's writing a file, make a note of where that file is. Now, replace the file that Audacity just wrote with the ImageCache....

Re: Recording level
Audacity's Source selector is in the Edit -> Preferences -> Audio I/O menu. Some drivers allow you to use the selector on the main screen, but many do not. This is a pretty common problem. But I don't know if that will help you. There is a small tutorial on our wiki with info about this though: http...
Re: Add pulse
There is no quick way to do this, but it can be done. In order to make a track like that in Audacity, you'll have to do some basic math: Time between beats (seconds) = (60 / BPM) Example => BPM = 120 Time between beats = 60 / 120 = .5 sec That's how you find the length of each beat. Now there are tw...

Re: Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified
That's odd... I can think of a few things to check out. Is your hard drive full or fragmented? Do you have that file open in another instance of Audacity while trying to open the project? Is the file/folder write protected for some reason? Are you using a different user name that doesn't allow write...

Re: Exporting to AMR
Not without getting the developers to add it to the next version.
In the meantime, your best bet is an external wav -> AMR converter.

Re: No sound when recording
chau, If you have "play other tracks while recording new one" checked in the Edit -> Preferences menu, then Audacity will output any audio it sees while it's recording. If you still can't hear it then there's something wrong with the way you've plugged your speakers in or where you've plug...

Re: levels clipping
Sounds like it might be an issue with your soundcard drivers. Are you using standard Windows drivers? Or did your USB device come with it's own drivers? You might also have your pre-amp setup to use the wrong style cartridge. I know MM cartridges are quite a bit louder than MC, so if that's set wron...
