Re: Help Needed with Recording using Amp Modeller

You've probably got a simple driver snafu going on. You didn't mention your OS (this was the only problem in an otherwise excellent post, thanks). It's definitely a version of windows though. The first thing you should do (especially if you have Vista) is update your sound card drivers if you can: h...

Re: Make Karaoke track

So you've inverted one of the tracks (this is step #4). Now you will need to change both of them to mono by clicking the name of each track and selecting Mono. As long as both mono tracks are panned center (they should be by default), all the center sounds will be sucked out of the playback. It will...

Re: Using Audacity for Time Delay?

Yeah, you'll have to find a different piece of software, Audacity won't do that.

Re: Creating Loops question

You can create markers as transcriber already said, and you can loop the playback by holding [shift] while pressing play. But there is no quick way to select the space between two markers (this is annoying). You can click on one marker to set the cursor exactly there, but there is no automated way t...

Re: drum machine

The problem is that you can't record multi-track projects with a real-time software DSP like GearBox. At least, not with Audacity. You will always be limited to recording one track with nothing playing in the background unless you have some seriously awesome sound card driver software. Koz's solutio...

Re: Computer keeps crashing

The scary thing is that your sound cards keep breaking?

Are you using PCI cards? You might have some serious power surge problems or a bar power supply.

But Koz is right, this could be quite tough to fix.

Re: Recovering lost audio files

You can upload files to this board, any chance you could upload that .aup file? It didn't get saved correctly, but it might be salvageable.

The other options are on this wiki page:

Re: Recording speed changes

The most likely culprit is that something has the wrong sample rate set. I can't say anything else because I don't know anything about your mixer or your turntable (are they analog or digital? Do either of them use USB to connect to your PC?).

Re: Recording audio tape - sound levels too low

Far too much feedback and distortion when using the mixer/amp combination, possibly because the audio in & out from my Echo Indigo were both routed through the mixer? The problem might be that you have Audacity set to record the sound coming out of the speakers while also monitoring the sound g...

Which recording device do you have selected in the Audacity Edit -> Preferences -> Audio I/O menu?
