I am trying to record a voltage from a microphone while keeping the DC component. So, I have to have the input DC-coupled. Is there a way to do this in Audacity, or do is it a hardware issue?

Yes, this is DC offset, but you're also right in that it's the ultimate bass signal - you actually have significant information down at 0 Hz.
