Re: Audacity 1.2.6 crashes with Remote Desktop
But recording over remote desktop doesn't work. If you look deeper in the crash dump it's actually in the RDP audio driver not audacity - it's because the RDP audio driver is an incomplete implementation, so breaks when audacity tries to query it's capabilities.

Re: Compile a bunch of MP3s to make playlist?
Now select the time shift tool in audacity (<->) and drag the lower clip along past the end of the upper clip. You can drag it right into the upper track, it doesn't make any odds.

Re: How Do You Remaster Old, Scratchy Audio?
You probably can't. Correcting the pitch variation is impossible unless you can get the original tape onto a better machine so it plays better and re-do the transfer. Scratches may respond to the Click and Pop remover, or you will have to draw them out by hand with the draw tool.

Re: problems installing audacity 1.3.3
You are still compiling using the copy of soundtouch in the audacity tree, not the system one. Did you use the configure option I described? What does the library listing at the end of the configure script say about Soundtouch?

Re: brand new install fails to open
@mitrich: Audacity won't work if your default sound device is the Total Recorder drivers, because they don't fully emulate a sound device. If you set the windows default device to a real card then audacity can launch and you can explicitly configure audacity to use the hardware device regardless of ...

Re: Muting while recording
Be patient. As you are recording the streaming audio you want the audacity recording device set to SigmaTel audio. You then need to follow the FAQ on recording streaming audio: http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=recording&i=streaming to record what the computer is playing back. Because you are recor...

It would also need to be written differently for every email client because there isn't a standardised interface to create new emails.
