Audacity MP3s playback at double speed
All of the mp3s I have made on Audacity are playing at double speed on Windows Media Player. None of my other mp3s do this. I have never had this problem before, and now all my Audacity mp3s are playing back this way for no apparent reason. Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Wondering about specific effects
Does anyone know how to achieve an "underwater" sound? I'm also wondering about how to achieve vocal effects such as distortion. I haven't been able to find any advice on specific effects like this, any advice would be appreciated.

Making vocals louder in music file
I'm working on a file that I ripped directly from the internet, it's just guitar and voice, no separation. is there any way of making the vocals louder, even though they are mixed together? thanks
edit: also, there is a bit of a hiss in the background, any advice for removing this?

Amplify in relation to gain?
I'm working on a song, and for the vocals a gain of 9 is too loud and 6 isn't loud enough. How might I amplify the vocals so it's equivalent to a gain of about 7.5 (half way between 6 and 9)? I'm curious to find out how to be more specific about gain. Thanks a lot.

Vocals relative to music
I've been experimenting with recording music and i've found that vocals can sound much criper than the music, which makes it sound amateurish. are there any good techniques for "degrading" the vocals, so it sounds better relative to the music? thanks

Re: Recording on to existing track
thanks that was helpful. I have another query, is it possible to listen to what you have already recorded while recording in on to a new track? or do you have to record it "blind" and hope it'll sync up, or sync it up later?

Recording on to existing track
I've been recording directly into Audacity using a Zoom h2 recorder connected via USB, it works fine but whenever I hit record a new track is created, I can't figure out how to record on to a pre-existing track. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
