Having trouble recording streaming audio on new computer
I just got a new laptop with Windows 8. I am trying to set up Audacity to record Playback the way it did on my old laptop, but it doesn't seem to be working. In Audacity, I select "Microsoft Sound Mapper" as the input, as I always have, but it seems to only record from the onboard microphone. I have...

Project freezes when opened
I'm using Vista. Whenever I open a specific project, the programme freezes and I have to close using task manager. Consequently I cannot edit the project nor export what I have already done. Is there any way to salvage my work? This only happens with one specific project so I think the problem lies ...

Re: Effects Plug-Ins not showing up.
I am having the same problem, the plugins are in C: > Program Files > Audacity > Plugins, and this is the first time I've had any version of Audacity installed on this computer.

Re: Audacity MP3s playback at double speed
I should have mentioned that, I have always set it to 44100Hz. Are you sure you got the file from http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/ and that you pointed Audacity to it properly (that is, "MP3 Export Setup" in the File formats preferences says LAME v3.97)? And you are setting the rate bottom left, and not ...
