Re: Help with volume too loud...old lp's
We've got an ion turntable and converting the lps over to audacity...eventually to cds. Problem...it's like sounds too loud...distorted. The sound is also bright. Is there any way to adjust this? TK Welch The ION TTs normally have a gain (volume) control underneath at the back, a little knurled kno...

Re: project "data"
Audacity has a somewhat complex file structure - and in particular it doesn't like things being moved around while a project is active. So my recommendation is that while you are working on a project, just leave all the files where you originally had them. Once the project is finished you then "...

Re: HOW do I turn the darn thing on???
Marlin, Glad you're on the way to diagnosing the problem. Are ION planning to replace the deck for you? One if the good things about ION/Numark is that they do seem to have good customer help lines (that are really helpful) in both the UK and the US. I've just looked at the piccie of your TT on the ...

Re: It worked, finally.....but
Sally, a diamond stylus is normally reckoned to be "good" for up to 200-300 hours of playing - it will last a lot longer, but will be a little worn by that time. The rate of wear depends on the quality of your groove, i.e how much dust and cr*p the stylus encounters in it's travels - and t...

Re: Recording Time Remaining
I copied the projects onto DVDs and then deleted them (and associated files) from the hard-drive. jahnckee I assume, and hope, that when you say you copied the projects onto DVD that what you actually did was to export the projects as WAV files and copy the WAV files to DVD. Otherwise you may have ...

Re: Toggling between two tracks
I think that you may be able to control this easiest by using the Envelope tool (the icon with two triangles pointing to a central dot with a blue line passing through). Control of this tool is a little tricky at first - but worth learning. This should let you control the volume of parts of each tra...

Re: HOW do I turn the darn thing on???
Telling us which TT you have would help a lot - but normally plugging it into the mains and turning on the "on" switch - location of which almost certainly will be shown in the manual .....

Re: The CD won't play on Bose Acoustic Wave
You are probably creating a data CD and not a music CD - you do realize that you can't do this by just graggging teh WAV file onto the CD? Rather you will need to use some CD burner software (An example of this is Nero). Almost certainly you should stick to working with WAVs if you want to create CD...

Re: why can't i see the waveform?
If you have created multiple tracks that you don't need - the trick is to delete the ones you don't want by clicking in the little x at the top left hand corner of the track control box.gdog wrote: What's the trick?

Re: Noise reduction
John, There is a Click Remonal effect in Audacity, but I personally I have never had much joy with it - so what I have done is to remove them manually. Version 1.3 of Audacity is much better for this as the developers have added a new "Repair" effect - this will mend a broken portion of wa...
