The only problems taht I have had is when I used special characters like / in the trackname. But this caused the multiple export to abort at that point. No I've never had little 1kb files like that.

Re: recording audio to cd
Audacity cannot export to a CD - well not a music CD anyway (are you asking Audacity to exoport your WAV files directly - rather than to your hard drive?). What you need to do is to export your multiple WAV files to your hard drive - I would create a separate diectory for this. Then you need to use ...

Re: Recording on CD-R
....... the recording quality was quite dreadful after I converted this to the so-called mp3 file. Mimi, have you checked the setting of the MP3 bitrate you are using for export? Low bitrates will give poor quality. For music 128 is normally regarded was the minimum in order to retain sufficient au...

Re: cut and paste
Try using the Time-Shift tool - the tool icon with the horizontal arrow with arrow-heads on each end.
You will probably want to create a new track to paste it into and then move it.

Re: How to get Track Names onto iPod ?
Once you have recorded the project and done any clean-up or repairs that you want, then label each track use the shortcut Ctrl-B to create the label. Don't forget to label the first track right at the beginning. Type the text of the trackname into each label. Then you can use the Export Multiple fea...

Re: Click/pop removal - ClickRepair software
Further update: just been experimenting with ClickRepair on some of my old 45s - ones that have had a very hard life on my old jukebox, and sound as though they have been cleaned with a wire brush! The results are simply amazing - and I would never have had the patience to attempt even a 3-minute s...

Re: Recording on CD-R
All you need to do is to place a label at each track break - use the Ctrl-B shortcut - and don't forget to place a label right at the beginning for the first track. Then use Audacity's Export Multiple command (available from the File drop-down) to export a multiple set of WAVs. To assist with the tr...

Re: Click/pop removal - ClickRepair software
Post-trial period report on ClickRepair. Well I have now been trialling Brian Davies's ClickRepair software for two and a half weeks now - and I can report that I am extremely impressed with it. Sufficiently so that as I approached the end of the 21 day trial period I definitely decided to buy it a...

Re: Recording 78RPM records
Vinana, be aware that you should be using a different stylus for 78's - they are larger and normally conical rather than elliptical. IIRC ION can supply a 78 Stylus for you. Also be aware that standards were not properly in place in the time of 78's - so they play at speeds close to 78 - and this of...

Re: Quality sample and rate format vs File Format
Recording at 32-bit is good - gives you better quality for editing work. However, as you allude to, it is important that when you export to a CD you do this at 44.1kHz, 16-bit PCM, Stereo (this is the Red Book standard for CD's). Otherwise your CD is extremely unlikely to play in any CD player. So c...
