Re: transfering from vinyl to CD
You are probably trying to burn a data CD rather than a music CD - this will be controlled by a setting/switch in your CD burner software. The WAV files on a data CD will take up more space than the equivalent files on a music CD - and a data CD with WAVs will not play in CD players. Also, you are e...

Re: Converting Tapes with ION iTTUSB
I assume your Panasonic's phones output is a 1/8" jack -in which case you just need a stereo lead which terminates in 1/8" male jacks at each end. You need to be careful that you do not oversaturate the signal and produce clipping when you record you can either control the output on your Panasonic -...

Re: Nebie Having Trouble
I think what you're asking Jack is:- can I add further recordings to a project after I have hit the stop button. If that is the the case, then yes you can - just make sure you are at the far right hand end of the project use the >> icon. Then just press record when you are ready. You will notice tha...

Re: Unicode labels
Stephen,
are you using 1.3.4 or 1.3.3?
I have beeen using 1.3.3 for several months now - and it has proved eminently stable throughout the labelling process (and LP transcription/repair).

Re: random loss of sound
I suspect that you have move/deleted the original WAV files that the project depends on (posibbly just dismounted the CD if you didn't copy the WAV files to your PC. When you open/import a WAV file into Audacity it doesn;t actually import the data - instead it creates a pointer. Thus the projevt rem...

Re: Nebie Having Trouble
All you need to do is to use the Export Multiple feature - not the simple Export (which will just create the single file. The Export Multiple will allow you to create a set of MP3s, WAVs or whatever - based on the track markers/labels.

Re: Output formats
Certainly you can. Just export the tracks as aset of WAV (44.1kHz, 16-bit, stereo) files - and then use a CD burner program to burn the CD. Do make a music CD and not a data CD - and do use good quality CD-R not CD-RW

Re: Analogue to digital?
Toby, you can record analogue input - your soundcard, either on-board in the PC or external, converts the stuff to digital (ADC). Vista - probably will work for you, but from reading the forums it throws up some problems - so you may need a careful read of the Windows section - soundcard drivers sem...

Re: Can't seem to import in Sterio
So you swapped the plugs at the end of the Y cable that goes to the PC, right? If that is the case and the two lines in Audacity swapped over, then the implication is that your Y cable is at fault. You've effectively checked the Y harness by doing this test. BTW: you are not connecting the trurntabl...
