Re: No sond....ever
You have posted this on totally the wrong place of teh forum - this is the section for people who don't like the colours of the site, or want more smilies ...... Nonetheless - many people seem to have problems with USB TTs (personally I didn't - apart the incedibly annoying wow&flutter which fin...

Re: Auto Logout Timer?
This is actually a Design/Engineering problem frequently encountered by nearsighted programmers. Koz The one that would always break me up when running teams of n/s programmers - was the way they insist on testing a web or networked application on a big server sat next to their desk - amd then wond...

Thee's lucky lad - a quick trip up t'Tottenham Court Road should easily enable you to source the required component (harder to do in Manchester ....)adegg wrote: No Radio Shack at hand over here in London (I don't think), but as long as those cables are standard kit, I should be able to find some.

Re: It worked, finally.....but
I think what Koz is saying on this thread is - that good equipment, well set-up and maintained, will normally produce the best recording results.mrsnak wrote:So what you are saying is, Audacity requires much more forum searching to find how to get it to work?

Re: **** MP3 FILES!
From reading other posts on the forum, I believe that it is possible to have versions of LAME and Audacity that are out of step. Workaround: export your files as WAVs and find an external piece of software that will convert WAV=>MP3 - you should find some free s/w that you can download over t'interw...

Re: Getting the most from XM Online
rascw, one tweak you might want to make is to up the bitrate of the MP3 export. Audacity's default is 128, which is normally regarded as the minimum requirement for music. You may want to up this to 192 or even 256. The higher the bitrate though, the bigger the MP3 file (in more-or-less direct propo...

Re: can't transfer usable files
No, you record in Audacity with its own (complicated) file structure - you do this by "SAVE"ing the project. When you've finished the project you then "Export" it to a set of WAV files or MP3 files for use as: 1) burning to a CD (needs WAV files) 2) use on an MP3 player (prabably...

Re: How do I use Audacity
The GUI toolbar is designed to look like a tape recorder - so if you've ever used a cassette recorder or VHS you should recognize the iconography. Plug it in - fire up Audacity - click the Record Button (the big red blob) - you may need to adjust the volume/gain, use the "slider" with the ...

Re: can't transfer usable files
All you need to do is to Export your project to a WAV file (or MP3 or whatever).
As you will be making a CD I am guessing that you will want it divided into tracks - if so then create labels (with Ctrl-B) and use Export Multiple to create a set of WAVs

Re: How do I use Audacity
Koz is almost certainly asleep righ now. Didn'y you notice his location - he lives in LA (and he was up late last night answering queries on this board). Please don't be impatient and double post  In the meantime I suggest that you try what Koz told you earlier and stuff the plug from your TT ...
