Re: Lost audio output with media player and Itunes
bmckeen the basic problem is that USB devices tend to take over the whole sound - both input and output - and obviously your USB TT doesn't have speakers for playback. Galeandrews post relates to this - you need to tell Audacity to direct it's output to your PC's soundcard. Go to Edit>Preferences>Au...

Re: stereo problems; no left audio
I infer from you user name that you're probably using an ION TT - if so try connecting the deck to a hi-fi or compact audio with the RCA plugs that are attached to the ION - and test to see if you get 1 or 2 channels.

Re: Audio disappears in middle of audio track
Or set Audacity so that actually takes a copy and does'nt just use the pointer: Edit>Preference>File Formats in the "When importing uncompressed files into Audacity" check the "Make a copy of the file before editing (safer)" radio button. And on the "When saving ....." ...

Re: Reliability of USB audio devices
My Edirol UA-1EX USB sound card works like a dream too - and excellent techsupport/advice availiable from the Edirol/Roland helpline when I was setting it up. My ION that preceded it also worked fine with no USB transfer problems - just a lot of wow&flutter. Environment: Dell Dimension 2400 Wind...

Re: A newbie asks how to record a vinyl to computer
hello, another newbie here, impressed with the software and the results. I have managed to convert a few vinyls to wav and play on itunes - which I wanted - but so far (and despite following instructions and checking out faqs) have been unable to listen to the vinyl as it records. You appear to hav...

Re: Newbie BASIC recording
Any Windows user that has an iPod will have iTunes (it comes on the CD in the box) - and even if you don't have an iPod any Windows user can still download iTunes for free, and why not - it's a good music player and jukebox.kozikowski wrote:This is the Windows forum. No iTunes. .......

No, it's only available in the Beta 1.3.x - but I find 1.3 a fairly stable release though.

Re: Not Recording in Stereo
OOTB Audacity is set to mono - to change this go to Edit/Preferences and click on the Audio I/O - set the "Channels" to "2 (Stereo)".
You may need to stop Audacity and restart it to get the change to take effect.

Re: A newbie asks how to record a vinyl to computer
1.) when you have finished recording an LP or EP, then do any editing you want - then break it up into tacks (move you cursor to the track break and press CTRL+B and then type the track label. Once you have labelled all the tracks - and don't forget a track label right at the beginning for the first...

Re: Second Track records over 1st track
Phyllis, Either close the Audacity project and start a new one (best way) - or if you do insist in doing it all in one audacity project, when you have finished with the track and exported it as WAV.Mp3 whatever - then just delete the track by clicking in the little x at the top left hand corner of t...
