Re: loops when exporting multiple tracks
Richard, do you mean that Quick Mix will always reduce quality - or only just in the special case above whre rate changes are applied? If for instance I record one side of an LP in one track and then side two in a second track - if I then use Quick Mix (Or Mix & Render in 1.3) will I get reduced...

Re: LOST MY VU METERS...
Glad you got it sorted rokdude - BTW did you see Kozikowski's post on the thread I referred you to above about re-sizing the meter bar. It really healps to control the signal level of you do enlarge the meters - I have mine stretched across the whole width of the Audacity window.

Re: MP3 Export Options in v. 1.3.4 Beta
In the Export File pop-up window you should see at the bootom right hand corner a button labelled "Options" - click on that button.
If you use the Export Multiple - then the Option button is to the right of the Export Format drop-down

Re: getting Audacity into media player
Have you got your project rate set to 44.1kHz?
You should export as 44.1kHz PCM Stereo 16-bit (especially if you ever want to create music CDs from the WAV)s.

Re: Set Recording Time Limit
Cofirming 1.3.x does have a timer - available from the Tracks dropdown Tracks>Timer Record - seems to work fine.

Re: Hercules DJ Console USB recording volume setting
kenneth, I susoect that you may have a problem without some additonal circuitry. The basic problem is that with USB devices Audacity seems to take its cue on signal level entirely from the USB device that is connected - the mic slider becomes inoperable as you have found out. This hpappenes with bot...

Re: Non-linear fades?
Have you tried the Effect>Cross Fade Out ?
In the 1.4 manual it mentions that "cross fading" gives a more natural fade - give it a try and see what you think.

Re: Non-linear fades?
You can try usin the Envelope tool (the tool with the icon of two vertical triangles pointing towards each other with a white dot and a blue line between). The envelope will enable you to have more control of the de-amplification transition. When you select the envelope tool the wav graphic changes ...
