Re: Audacity files gobbling up my hard disk!
I guess the answer is simply to delete these files, once the recorded material is safely on CD-R, and provided you’re sure you won’t ever need to go back to the source recording? CD-Rs are only reasonably safe - they will decay over time, they are photosensitive so it helps to keep them out of the ...

Re: click removal
John, take a look at this thread I started a while ago on click/po removal with (non-Audacity) software: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1994 . The ClickRepair that I use costs US$40 (but I think well worth it). Gale Andrews posts a free (well, extended free trial) alternative...

Re: Audacity opens only 12-second long pieces
When you save an Audacity project as <project_name> it creates a number of things 1. a top level master project file called <project_name>.aup 2. a folder at the same filing level called <project_name_data> 3. and within the folder a sub-folder structure with lots of little .au files - segments of t...

Re: I'm looking to buy a TTUSB and need some advice.
And once you've digitized all that vinyl, you dont' really need to move it back (I'm planning to archive my TT when I've done digitizing) There are some good devices onthe market that will pay your digitized music from a hard disk (sortof like a main iPod if you like) - and others that will take you...

Re: Can I insert track markers?
All you need to do is to place a label at each track break - use the Ctrl-B shortcut - and don't forget to place a label right at the beginning for the first track. Then use Audacity's Export Multiple command (available from the File drop-down) to export a multiple set of WAVs, MP3s or whatever. The...

Re: Only 2 choices in mixer toolbar input source
billbird, consider buying (or getting your employer to buy) - a modern hand-held digital recorder. Some of these come with intergrated mics - or you can plug an external mic in. This will then give you digitized recordings which you can then load onto you PC and work on with Audacity. The Zoom H2 is...

Re: noise interference on 45rpm
It's possible there is an elctrical fault on your TT when you have 45rpm engaged. Workaround: record your singles at 33.3 RPM - and then use Audaciti'ys Change Speed Effect to speed the recording up to 45. It'll obviously take a bit longer - but should work. Re the analogue route - is your TT an ION...

Re: I'm looking to buy a TTUSB and need some advice.
1) Yes they should enable this - an ION did this for me for a while (see below) - though some folks on these forums do have problems with USB devices - though the ION/Numark decks do have RCA outputs to so you have an alternative recording route if the USB is problematic. The USB route worked fine w...
