Re: Sliding tracks around

You should just be able to select just the tracks that you want to move - and then use the Time-Shift tool (the icon with the horizontal bar with an arrow-head at eac end).

Re: Installing 1.2.6

Like you, I use external software to de-click my digitized LPs - but I use ClickRepair which costs US40 and works extremely well. One of the developers, Gale Andrews, recommends Goldwave (which apparently you can use for an extended trial period, making it effectively free). It is generally acknowle...

Re: Constant Static

First you have to make sure you are opening a file that Audacity supports: WAV/AIFF/MP3/Ogg & of course Audacity project files can be opened in Audacity. Other sound files, e.g. iTunes AAC/MP4, won't open in Audacity - you would need to covert these first to a format that Audacity can handle. Au...

Re: Open a project that failed to save

When you save a project you should always get the dialog box that shows the amount of time spent v. time remaining and a progress bar - movement of these would indicate that things are happening - no movement = worry!

Re: BEST ORDER FOR APPLYING EFFECTS

Yes, it is generally thought better to do noise removal before click removal - There was similar post to yours recently that advised this in he reponse. And normaizing (if required or needed) is usually the lst production effect applied. When you do the inter-track editing (silence/fade-ins/fade-out...

Re: Part of track is silent

But you can set your Audacity Preferences so that it always takes it's own copy of the files - rather than relying on the external sources (the mode described as safer).

Re: Cassettes to MP3 CDs

I have a similar situation, but I'm having trouble at the most basic level. That is, how do I set up an MP3 file in Audacity to receive the recording as it is played? So far, I have only been able to record something less than a minute. -gthoenen You don't set up Audacity to record to Mp3 - Audacit...

Re: Sound card (or mixer?) recommendation (two inputs requir

EDIT: Is there any way to continue recording on the same track once I click stop and then click record again? Only if you Pause rather than Stop . But you can always start a new track timed after the first one - just move the Cursor to the end of the original track amd then start recording. You can...
