Re: partial exporting

are you using special characters (like /) in your labels - in track 8 label in particular? If Audacity encounters such characters in a label it stops the export at that point.

Re: Track splitting and labelling

to export as several WAV files you need to use the Export Multiple after labelling - rather than the simple Export which will produce a single WAV for the whole project. And don't forget to put a label right at the beginning of the proiject for the first track. If you are only exporting as WAV then ...

Re: recording vinyl to Audacity

I usually go for the simple 'numbering' option in the same window rather than putting in all the track titles (lazy I know!). Hope it works for you. David'a advice about "lazy labellimg" is absolutely fine if you only want to produce WAV files - but if you are producing MP3s, then the tra...

Re: importing a tape

I use 44.1kHz 32-bit stereo for recording and editing, including my momo LPs (32-bit gives better resolution for editing work I was led to believe from reading the manual/wiki). And then when I export the project to WAV. Audacity downsamples to 44.1 PCM stereo at 16 bit gor me (the Red Book standard...

Re: Recommend a good USB sound card

I use the Edirol UA-1EX with great success - the other one that gets recommended a lot on the forum is the Behringer UCA202. The Edirol is more expensive but has more features. Both have good online manuals that you can consult prior to purchase - and both have extremely helpful tech support by phon...

Re: Running slow with longer files.

It is possible that your virus software is interfering - can you set it to ignore/trust .aup and .au files? Or you could consider temporarily turning off you virus software while running Audacity - but you will probably want to disconnet from t'interweb and any other network before you do that (and ...

Sorry I can't test for you right now as we are on vacation and not on my home PC/Audacity workbench

Re: Muted Vocal Level

you could also try connecting your ION to your hifi with the RCA cables supplied. Do you trhen get the L-R problem? If you do then it's likely to be the cartridge or its downstream wiring - if it's ok than it's possible that the ION's onboard soundcard or its USB services are at fault.

Re: Hellowww out there...

I'm surprised by this because the timere record in 1.3 has always worked extremely well for me - absolutely accurate. Are you sure that you are not confusing the stop time and the duration - you can set either of these but each will affect the other.
