Re: ogg / compressing files

And the compulsive engineer will raise his hand and tell you that safety backups require that your valuable work be on two different memory systems. Internal Hard drive and External Hard Drive, Memory Stick and External Hard Drive, On-Line-Backup and Internal Hard Drive, etc. Koz Agree wholeheatedl...

Re: noise removal - buttons are greyed out

Re: NEED SOME HELP NEWBIE TO AUDACITY!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, what a lot of questions in a short post ....... Breaking a project into tracks Place a label at each track break - use the Ctrl-B shortcut - and don't forget to place a label right at the beginning for the first track. Then use Audacity's Export Multiple command (available from the File drop-do...

Re: ogg / compressing files

You should be able to consider buying an external disk that you can plug into your MAC - and use this disc for your iTunes library. (I have no real MAC knowledge - but in PC-land we can plug USB discs into our PCs - you may be able to use Firewire or USB). These discs are fairly cheap these days my ...

Re: Please help..! :\ A crashed Automatic Crash Recovery!

I'm at a loss to figure out how to cure this in 1.2 - but a workaround may be to download 1.3 and use that. Don't worry to much aboutthe "unstable" labelling of 1.3 Beta - 1.3 is in it's later stages of development and the latest releases are actually fairly stable. I have been only using ...

Re: export to WAV file

Try File > Export as WAV or File > Export Selection as WAV or use the Export Multiple (you will need to create labels first fir this) and select the WAV output option.

Re: Beta Record Problem with Line-in

Having said that re-installing won't help you - you may instead want to try setting your Audacity 1.3 back to its OOTB default settings. You can do this by deleting the configuration file: you will find this in C:Documents and Settings username Application DataAudacityaudacity.cfg If you delete this...

Re: Beta Record Problem with Line-in

What sample rates and bit settings are you using in 1.3? Often speed problems are associated with changed sample rates e.g. importing a piece of audio that was sampled at 48kHz when your Audacity is set to 44.1kHz say - but this should not really be your case as you say you are just recording from L...

Re: Setting mp3 Export Kbps/Quality

1.2 you could set it where you wanted it and it was set globally. This one you have to choose it for each export. Actually I think it makes an entry in your preferences file whenever you change the setting, so that the next time you use it the previous setting is remembered - it certainly works tha...
