Re: Audacity stops recording after a short time

I'd also defrag the hard drive occasionally too.

Re: Reset Audacity? Dose anyone know how?

It is harder to do in 1.2 than in 1.3. In 1.2 the preferences are stored in the registry - if you are confident in working on your windows registry then you can reset Audacity. In 1.3 there is a .cfg configuration file that is created per user - deleting this file and then restarting Audacity will r...

Re: "Line/Mic Volume"?

What you get in the input options is entirely dependent on the particular soundcard that you have in your PC and its associated driver software - and can thus vary greatly from PC to PC.

Re: Audacity stops recording after a short time

The other thing to try is to stop all other background processes wjile Audacity is working - as you are not on t'interweb that will not create interrups - and you can temporarily disable virus checking (and if your virus checker can be set to ignore certain filetypes, try setting it to ignore/trust ...

Re: Looking for suggested recording methods from USB turntab

WC - I also like your idea about getting a flashdrive. I had thoguht about that. In that case you only need to save the exported file, correct? If I only save the exported file I cannot manipulate the recording anymore, correct? This is ok though as I will more than likely be happy with the recordi...

Re: Looking for suggested recording methods from USB turntab

Do you have to do something special when recording at 32 bit and then exporting at 16 bit? Or does it convert without me doing anything. Nothing special just set your Audacity to 32bit float 44.1kHz in Edit>Preferences>Quality - and when you Export select the option of WAV (Microsoft 16 bit PCM) -i...

Re: Audacity stops recording after a short time

This seems to happen to many folks - what I would try is installing the latest version of the Beta Audacity 1.3.4 and see if that works better. It's likely to be down to your souncard and its associated driver software. You can download it from here: http://audacityteam.org/ . Note that you can have...

Re: Looking for suggested recording methods from USB turntab

1) What Bit Rate do you record and export with? I have found that I have a fuller sounding recording when I use the 32 bit float as compared to the 16 bit. Do you know any problems with using the 32 bit, other than it takes up more space on the computer? I erase everything once I have it burned to ...

Re: Trouble going from WAV to CD

AND make sure that you burn a "Music CD" and not a "Data CD" - data CDs will not play in CD players.

Re: transfering aup,s to itunes

Desmo, sorry no forums that I can point you to for this - it all just worked sweetly for me: scan, upload - a bit of photoshopping occasionally - file and backup. I encounterted no real problems so had no need of help from forums. When you say they were more negative - what were they complaining abo...
