Re: Accessing saved files
When I finish capturing a performance, I Export As WAV... immediately. That gives me a stable, robust sound file that I can go back to if everything else goes in the toilet.... Koz I absolutely agree with Koz' advice here and endorse it - and I do it myself after each LP capture, for the same safet...

Re: transfering aup,s to itunes
Sorry WC I had'nt picked up your reply re. putting old photographs on C.D. they were negative in as much as there was a major problem with specks of dust on negatives and slides and finding the right scanners, all in all putting you off having a go. I wont do that though, I'll definitely be working...

Re: Track titles lost on transfer
Basically WAV files do not carry the necessary metadata tags (in comparison MP3 files have ID3 metadata tags). When exporting WAV files with labels the labels are used to name the file and that's all. A useful tip: If you are recording a whole LP and keep the tracks in the right order, after creatin...

Re: Wav file import problems
Audacity OOTB is set by default to record and work in mono.
To reset to stereo go to Edit>Preferences>Audio I/O> Channels and select 2 Stereo
Personally I've always thought the default was daft as we live in a stereo world - and have done for a long time ...

Re: Exporting and retriving files for further audacity use
Also, I am can't get my z button to work in Audacity. I can get an uppercase Z to work but not a lowercase z. Do you suggest that I redownload Audacity? I presume you mean you can't get lowercase z to wotk in labels, right? This is a known "feature" of Audacity - it's because the lc z is ...

Re: Exporting and retriving files for further audacity use
Hwo do I open each individual file with Audacity? 1) Open the WAV file for the first track in Audacity. 2) Then Import>Audio for the second track WAV file 3) Audacity will create this as a second track starting at time=0 - so now select Track 2, select the Time Shift tool (the icon is a short horiz...

Re: Exporting and retriving files for further audacity use
Once you have exported them as individual WAV files per track the easiest way to edit further is just one track at a time - you can just open up the WAV file in Audacity - BUT be careful: depending on how your Audacity preferences Audacity will either use the WAV file where its is (default behaviour...

Re: New Audacity User
Arun, a lot of people seem to get this similar problem with Audacity when using USB services with Audacity. Personally (he says touching wood) I have not experienced this either with the origional ION ITTUSB that I had b=nor with my Edirol USB soundcard). Kozikowski, often recommends ditching the US...
