Re: Can I delete the aup files?

So long as you are SURE that you will never want to re-edit, or re-export at a higher bitrate MP3 for better quality - AND have backed up your MP3s (not just in iTunes, but also preferrably on a second different spindle) the sure you can delete the .aup and its data folder with all the little .au fi...

Re: Volume slider

And are you, by any chance, using a USB device for recording?

Re: Audio formats

Back to the original question - you missed out FLAC (lossless) - approx 50% lossless compression, but probably not compatible with iPods. Best quality on iPods is probably using Apple Lossless - not because it's any better than other lossless compresors, but being Apple, it will be well supported o...

Re: Top Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts

Re: I´ve downloaded 1.3.5 beta ...

Are you sure it's an MP3? I just tested loading an MP3 file into 1.3.5 and it worked fine.

Re: compatible soundcards

Yup 1.3 Beat vn. (latest is 1.3.5) has an equalizer built in - available from the Effects menu. I can be set to work from equalization curves (with some already built-in) - or to work like a hardware equalizer with sliders. UPDATE: I just checked in 1.2 - I forgot that there is also equalization the...

Re: Burn on Edited File

Nothing wrong with TDK discs - I use their CD-R80s - and so far I've only produced one coaster/beer-mat.

If you do not have enough space on your hard drive that certainly can indeed cause problems. It can cause problems for Windows if space really gets tight.

Re: Streaming audio being split into 12 second increments

When you save an Audacity project as <project_name> it creates a number of things 1. a top level master project file called <project_name>.aup 2. a folder at the same filing level called <project_name>_data 3. and within the folder a sub-folder structure with lots of little .au files - segments of t...
