Re: Vinyl to Apple Lossless

you can do it with Audacity - but you will need to upgrade to the Beta version 1.3.5. Don't worry too much about it being Beta - 1.3 is fairly stable now - I've used only 1.3 fron v1.3.3 onwards and it has proved emminently stable. If you have an Audacity project you don't need to convert to WAV - j...

Re: Soften Harsher Sounds

"Natter Club." That's good. Can I use that? Koz Hey Koz, unless you have actually acquired the "rights" by means of the above - perhaps we could ask Buanzo to rename "The Lounge" section of the forum to "Natter Club"? Later on the radio news I heard that they...

Re: Can't Open File (Error 2: The System Cannot Find the Fil

Have you by any chance moved or deleted any of the files that your projects depend on. Or deleted/moved any WAV files that you "imported" into Audacity for editing?

Re: voice recording saved as mp3 sounds garbly

No, if you use Adacity to record it uses its own (very complex) file structures. Once you have finished recording and editing you can then export to WAV or MP3 (or Ogg - or FLAC in 1.3).

Re: voice recording saved as mp3 sounds garbly

How do you "record as WAV"? Thanks You don't. To get music from a CD into Audacity you will need to rip it to WAV format first (several pieces of s/w can do this for you) - or you need to record it into Audacity. In both cases then will then have data in Audacity project format that Audac...

Re: What is "New Peak Amplitude" & "Clipping"?

New Peak Amplitude: this is the maximum amount of amplification you can apply without then signal clipping. Clipping: uis exactly what you don't want - it is an oversaturated signal - it sounds horrible - it cannot easily be repaired. So resist the temptation to check the little box that says "...
