Re: How to delete unused files?

Actually from reading several other postings recently I'm not entirely sure that that is true. Cetainly I believe that you are right in that once you close the project the undos are no longer available - but some postings indicate that the project file may remain as large as before (i.e. the .au fil...

Re: Too much bass

Are you playing the tape on the same deck/portable that you originally dubbed onto? It is possible that the heads are out of alignment compared with the original recording. A proper service of the deck may help. Better still - do you still have the original reel-to-reel tapes? If so then you could t...

Re: Problem with timer record

This is looking like it might be a problem with longer timed recordings - I responded yesterday to a similar post where the user had a 12 hour recording. I have used timed recordings for a long while now on 1.3.3 originally and latterly on 1.3.5 and it has never exhibited this not-stopping behaviour...

Re: How to delete unused files?

actually it doesn't always delete the .au files - they are left behind after edits/deletions to support the Undo function in Audacity.

Re: Any recommendations for a pre-amp/preamp

Thanks for that further feedback Bob.

I have seen the Phono Plus on the ART website - I don't think they were making that when I bough my pre-amp - and anyway I already had an external USB soundcard.

Good to know that the Phono Plus works so well.

Re: Extremely long "save project as" times

when I use the timer it doesn't turn off at the end of the recording. This is my real problem! VGC, This surprises me as I have used the timer for several months now int 1.3.3 originally and latterly in 1.3.5 and it has never failed to start and stop at the specified times. It is very easy, I find ...

Re: How to delete unused files?

Unfortuntely there is no Delete Project function in Audacity (I've always thought there should be...) - so you have to delete the files manually. Basically you beed to delete the .aup and the .au files and the folder that contains the .au files. In case you don't know the Audacity file structure I h...

Re: Cant seem to save recordings on comp

SW, You may be getting confused between the Save and the Export functions - this catches a lot of people out - and has provoked much comment on earlier postings. When you are working on Audacity project you can Save the project to an Audacity project - this is a complex file structure usable only by...

Re: Export to MP3

It is most likely that you have used special characters in the label of the third track. Avoid characters like / etc. that Windows uses a special chars.

Re: Bots

the bots are software programs that trawl t'interweb for sites like Google, Yahoo etc. indexing the sites. This data is used then to return listed pages for you when you do a search on Google, Yahoo or whatever.

IIRC it is a corruption of the word robot.
