Re: Playing recorded CD's
It is possible that you are burning your CD as a data CD - what you need to do is to burn a Music CD or Audio CD. There should be a setting in your CD burning software to switch bewteen data burning and music/audio burning. BTW: the WAVS should be exported at 44.1kHz 16-bit PCM stereo (the REd Book ...

Re: Audacity don't recording cassettes anymore
Who in the recording industry would be sobbing if you were forced to go out and buy CDs of all your vinyl and cassettes? Koz Tht's fine when they take the trouble to release them and keep them in stock - a lot of my old vinyl and tape is not available. I'd prefer to buy CDs, it would make the proce...

Re: How to delete unused files?
aDJ: Ok - I managed to find some time to do some testing on this today. I can confirm that on both 1.3.5 and 1.2.4b Audacity does indeed appear to release the .au files that it no longer needs after trimming a project and closing Audacity. 1.3.5 Original Project: 1:50:52 duration - .aup 344kb data f...

Re: Pops, clicks, dropouts
I would try moving to 1.3.5 which although billed as Beta is actually fairly stabel now. 1.2 is ancient and has many bugs that have not been fixed. In terms of non-essential processes: try disconnecting from the internet and any network that you have, switch off virus checking, make sure you have no...

Re: audacity not seeing digi design 003
Have you tried resetting Audacity's targetted audio device - use Edit>Preferences>Audio I/O and there is a setting for the Playback Device controlled by a drop-down selector box.
You may need to close Audacity and restart it for the setting to take effect.

Re: The item microphone can not be selected
From your patchy description of the setup I would infer that you are using a USB turntable, right? In fact I would further infer that you are using an ION/Numark TT - the manuals have been in error for over two years now.... If so then you should not expect to be able to select the input - Audaciity...

I would give 1.3.5 a try - the Beta version is now fairly stable and very usable.

Re: Vinyl to Apple Lossless
Also, does anyone know whether once the LP is converted into iTunes it is possible to get the Artwork. Usually, but not always, this is loaded when I rip CDs into iTunes rfpdf1 For the "CD's" that iTunes does not have artwork for you may find examples of the artwork by searching t'Interwe...

Re: Vinyl to Apple Lossless
All you need to do is to place a label at each track break - use the Ctrl-B shortcut - and don't forget to place a label right at the beginning for the first track. Then use Audacity's Export Multiple command (available from the File drop-down) to export a multiple set of WAVs, MP3s or whatever. The...

Re: Can't use "z" in labels; can use "Z" ?!
It's a "feature" - it's because the z is being usded by Audacity as a keyboard shortcut. I don't think this behaviour carries forward to the 1.3.x Beta versions. I just used to workaround it in 1.2 by using the uppercase Z in the labels and then editing the filenames and tags of the export...
