Is it just impossible to get a good rip through a laptop? No reason fundamentally why it shouldn't work. iTunes also works very well on PCs/Windows and is available free as a download from Apple - you don't need to have an iPod to get it.

I have just recently transferred a feature request from the forum to thre Wiki requesting retention of the Undo trail - switchable on/off - please go to the Wiki and vote if you feel strongly.

ok yes Koz two keys, sorry :D but .... it's actually CTRL+B which is sthe shortcut for add label at selection - CTRL+M is designed for placing a mark at the current point at the current point during recording (or payback) - but there's not really much difference as a mark is just an empty label ... To cut: just select the section you need and use the k/b shortcut CTRL+C To place this at the end: Move cursor to end of track (use the icon that looks like the Fast Forward on a tape deck/VCR) - and paste the audio in with CTRL+V And yes for best reults you will need to zoom in close to try to matc...

Is there a way of turning down the sensitivity of the line in outside of audacity to get round the problem ? If for instance I turn down the line in level in my soundcard control panel, would this help or does that only affect the output ? I certainly would give this a try - but it will only work a...
